Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesD- FutureA+
The Jets let McCord fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Jets, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Getting McCord where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting Kiser proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In pick 25 they get a security blanket over the middle, and a steal at that.
Pick42 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
They read the board right and Derrick Harmon was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick73 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at the 73rd overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick79 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at No. 79 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Pick110 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 8, where Kevin Winston Jr. graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick145 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
They barely believed it either: Kyle McCord still on the board at slot 145. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick162 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
A wild overpay on Jack Kiser in Round 5, Pick 24, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick166 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
A slide stopped in pick No. 166, with Bhayshul Tuten worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick186 Rnd6 CJ West
No drama and no debate, CJ West went about where he belonged in the 186th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick207 Rnd6 Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers in the 207th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
