The board owed the Jets one, and it paid up: Terrance Ferguson, the No. 113 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 162 like a gift left on the doorstep. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: safety settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
