J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets! DRAFTING FOR THEJets

Draft Grade — Jets

A franchise passer in Nix headlines a B weekend for the Jets. The search is over. The Jets handed the keys to Bo Nix, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
However the rest shakes out, McCoy at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bell has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In the Round 1 slot they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick75
Rnd3
Amarius Mims
No drama and no debate, Amarius Mims went about where he belonged in No. 75. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick111
Rnd4
Jaheim Bell
They jumped the gun on Jaheim Bell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick148
Rnd5
Cedric Gray
Good price on Cedric Gray in slot 148, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick189
Rnd6
Steve Linton
Steve Linton in Round 6, Pick 14 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick232
Rnd7
Bru McCoy
Bru McCoy at the 232nd overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255
Rnd7
Storm Duck
Steal is underselling it; Storm Duck at pick No. 255 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick256
Rnd7
Xavier Truss
A tidy little value on Xavier Truss in pick 256, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
