FutureB-
The Steelers turned the phones into found money: B+. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Steelers were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Fisher pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots still on the board.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In the 22nd overall pick they get a problem off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick48
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. at slot 48 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick54
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at Round 2, Pick 22 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80
Rnd3
Jackson Powers-Johnson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jackson Powers-Johnson. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick116
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
A want over a need in pick 116: Blake Fisher adds an offensive lineman while quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jaden Hicks
They paid sticker price for Jaden Hicks in the 122nd pick, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick194
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
A conviction pick on Curtis Jacobs at the Round 6 slot that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Pick237
Rnd7
Reuben Fatheree II
Reuben Fatheree II at pick No. 237 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
