Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a A-.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

They are betting Smith proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Caleb Williams and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick27 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In pick No. 27 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Morgan at pick 35 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick37 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
A straight-up fair deal on Darius Robinson at the 37th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick40 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at the 40th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick67 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at slot 67 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75 Rnd3 Maason Smith
Maason Smith at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
