Maye is the Patriots' new face under center. Grade: B-.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

They will need Owens to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, Jackson at that price is a win they earned.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Brian Thomas Jr. graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

Blake Fisher in pick No. 68 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.

Khyree Jackson in the 103rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.

They went early on Luke McCaffrey in No. 137, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.

Kamal Hadden slid further than he should have, and pick 180 is lovely value for the cornerback. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Fabien Lovett in slot 193. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
