Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall C
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Vikings got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the C.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jordan Watkins at No. 221 is 65 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Majors. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Hit on Malaki Starks and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick50 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks in pick 50 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick52 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
The board had cheaper options than Tate Ratledge at Round 2, Pick 20, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick97 Rnd3 Darien Porter
They will replay Darien Porter at slot 97 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick131 Rnd4 Jake Majors
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 131st pick is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick137 Rnd4 Darius Alexander
The board had Darius Alexander higher than pick No. 137, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick139 Rnd5 Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. at the 139th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick182 Rnd6 Bhayshul Tuten
Somehow Bhayshul Tuten was still sitting there in the 182nd overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick184 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in slot 184 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick187 Rnd6 Zeek Biggers
They left a pile of value on the table to take Zeek Biggers this early at pick 187. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick206 Rnd6 Carson Vinson
Carson Vinson at pick No. 206 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick221 Rnd7 Jordan Watkins
Jordan Watkins in Round 7, Pick 5 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick235 Rnd7 Marcus Yarns
Marcus Yarns at the 235th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
