The Bears won the night they stopped Simpson from sliding. Grade: A-.

Somebody in No. 186 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Jaylin Simpson, the No. 143 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Malik Nabers and all.
