The phones sank the Ravens this weekend: D-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Ravens reached some 79 spots for Phillip Webb, and value like that does not grow back.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Pierce pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
