Of all the ways to open, the Packers chose the head-scratcher, spending the 91st pick on Maason Smith with quarterback and interior defensive lineman still wide open.

Every board in the league had Keegan lower, and that gap is the story. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Chambers falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
