Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Bills: B-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bills spent pick 132 on Fadil Diggs, a name most had 98 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

However the rest shakes out, Shough at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
Nice patience on Kenneth Grant, who had no business lasting to the 30th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick56 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Good price on Trey Amos in pick 56, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick62 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at Round 2, Pick 30 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa in the 109th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick132 Rnd4 Fadil Diggs
Fadil Diggs at No. 132 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick169 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
Circle this one: Tyler Shough at pick No. 169 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick173 Rnd5 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at No. 173 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick177 Rnd6 Dorian Strong
Dorian Strong at Round 6, Pick 1 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick204 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
Taking JJ Pegues in pick 204 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick206 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 206th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
