Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Jets robbed the room for McCord. Final grade: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Jets watched Kyle McCord slide 37 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Barrow Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In the 7th pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front. A real need, handled.
Pick42 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren in the 42nd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick73 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
They jumped the gun on Ozzy Trapilo, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110 Rnd4 Tory Horton
No edge and no loss on Tory Horton in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick157 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
The board fumbled Kyle McCord all the way to pick 157, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick174 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
Chase Lundt slipping to No. 174 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick188 Rnd6 Simeon Barrow Jr.
A reach on Simeon Barrow Jr. in slot 188; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick190 Rnd6 Dorian Strong
You do not let a cornerback like Dorian Strong reach pick No. 190 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick209 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
