You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cowboys took Nelson Ceaser at No. 174, roughly 19 spots before his name belonged. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.
