The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cowboys and King: B. You build a draft on nights like this. Kalen King had no business being available in pick 95, and the Cowboys did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Eboigbe has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper in the 32nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick62
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
A slide stopped in the 62nd pick, with Brian Thomas Jr. worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick93
Rnd3
Adisa Isaac
They paid sticker price for Adisa Isaac in No. 93, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick94
Rnd3
Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen at pick No. 94 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick95
Rnd3
Kalen King
A cornerback of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick130
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea in pick 130 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134
Rnd4
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson at slot 134 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick174
Rnd5
Tyler Batty
Tyler Batty in Round 5, Pick 38 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick177
Rnd6
LaDarius Henderson
Nothing to complain about; LaDarius Henderson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick251
Rnd7
Justin Eboigbe
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Justin Eboigbe. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
