Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Seahawks: B-. Nobody else had Tyler Batty anywhere near pick No. 175. The Seahawks did, by 62 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Landing Longerbeam that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In the Round 1 slot they get a two-high chess piece at fair value. More want than need.
Pick50
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. in Round 2, Pick 18 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick52
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
No drama and no debate, Jayden Higgins went about where he belonged in the 52nd overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick59
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
They liked Tate Ratledge enough to skip the value, taking him in the 59th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82
Rnd3
Deone Walker
A straight-up fair deal on Deone Walker at pick No. 82, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick92
Rnd3
Jake Majors
They talked themselves into Jake Majors at pick 92, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick129
Rnd4
Chase Lundt
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Chase Lundt. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jack Kiser
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jack Kiser this early at the Round 4 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick No. 172 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick175
Rnd5
Tyler Batty
A wild overpay on Tyler Batty in pick 175, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
They paid sticker price for Jermari Harris in the 223rd overall pick, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick234
Rnd7
Robert Longerbeam
A tidy bit of business in the 234th pick, where Robert Longerbeam graded well above the range. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick243
Rnd7
Cody Lindenberg
They jumped the gun on Cody Lindenberg, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
