Nobody dealt better than the Bills this weekend: B. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bills took Malachi Lawrence at the Round 4 slot, roughly 34 spots before his name belonged.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.
Landing Ponds that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The Justin Jefferson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
Pick Analysis
Pick60
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
Quietly one of the better values of the day, D'Angelo Ponds at the 60th pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick91
Rnd3
Skyler Bell
Skyler Bell in slot 91 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick104
Rnd4
Malachi Lawrence
They reached into another round for Malachi Lawrence, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kage Casey
Kage Casey in pick No. 126 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick166
Rnd5
Gracen Halton
The board had cheaper options than Gracen Halton at the Round 5 slot, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick228
Rnd7
Dominic Zvada
No drama and no debate, Dominic Zvada went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 12. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
