The Jets got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+. The Jets put a flag in the ground for CJ Baxter, 42 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and safety is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Peter Woods
In No. 1 they get a bendy edge with upside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33
Rnd2
Arch Manning
Arch Manning in pick 33 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick70
Rnd3
Colton Hood
Colton Hood in pick No. 70 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick101
Rnd4
CJ Baxter
CJ Baxter at the 101st overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick140
Rnd4
DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at slot 140 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
