A respectable, level-headed haul for the 49ers: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Keylan Rutledge in pick No. 58. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Royer at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
