FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Broncos this weekend: B+. The Broncos bet big and early on Jacory Croskey-Merritt, 69 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
The Marks value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
The Zay Flowers pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide, and a steal at that.
Pick56
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
They paid sticker price for TreVeyon Henderson in pick No. 56, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick85
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
They took Gunnar Helm at par in No. 85, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jeffrey Bassa
A conviction pick on Jeffrey Bassa at the 109th pick that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick122
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Lathan Ransom in the 122nd overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick124
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
A tidy bit of business in pick 124, where Joshua Farmer graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick191
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II in pick No. 191 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick197
Rnd6
Hayden Conner
Value said wait; Hayden Conner in the 197th overall pick says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick198
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
By-the-book stuff, Luke Lachey at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick208
Rnd6
Jacory Croskey-Merritt
Jacory Croskey-Merritt at Round 6, Pick 32 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick236
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris in the 236th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick241
Rnd7
Woody Marks
Woody Marks in No. 241 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
