The Patriots won the night they stopped Carter from sliding. Grade: B-.

Somebody in the Round 5 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Patriots sat still while Barrett Carter, the No. 82 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Warren lower, and that gap is the story.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
