The Bears let Lachey fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Luke Lachey at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
