Jam2113 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks answered their biggest question with Moore. Grade: B-. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Seahawks spent their marquee pick on Dante Moore, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Reaching for Royer left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. On value alone, Coleman Jr. makes the weekend a net positive.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Dante Moore
In the 23rd pick they get the face of the franchise, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick54
Rnd2
Taurean York
They paid up for Taurean York at No. 54 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick85
Rnd3
Joe Royer
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joe Royer this early at the 85th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick120
Rnd4
Kevin Coleman Jr.
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 20, where Kevin Coleman Jr. graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick158
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor in the Round 5 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick187
Rnd6
DJ Harvey
DJ Harvey at slot 187 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
