Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Buccaneers robbed the room for Altmyer. Final grade: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Buccaneers watched Luke Altmyer slide 34 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Stribling reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

They left with tight end solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Joshua Josephs
In the 27th overall pick they get juice off the edge, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Arch Manning
Arch Manning in slot 60 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
They went early on D'Angelo Ponds in the 91st pick, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick128 Rnd4 Tao Johnson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tao Johnson in No. 128. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick166 Rnd5 Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp at pick 166 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick211 Rnd6 De'Zhaun Stribling
A reach for De'Zhaun Stribling in Round 6, Pick 28; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick245 Rnd7 Luke Altmyer
They robbed the room for Luke Altmyer here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
