The phones sank the 49ers this weekend: D.

The 49ers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 7, Pick 29 on Jayson Jones a full 157 spots early. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. It is not that Sainristil is a bad player; it is that the 49ers had louder needs to answer first.

A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. Getting Devonshire where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
