Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 251st overall pick on Tanner McLachlan a full 62 spots early. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

However the rest shakes out, Jacobs at that price is a win they earned. Spending an early pick on safety with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the 25th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Quinyon Mitchell
The board had Quinyon Mitchell higher than pick No. 41, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick58 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick88 Rnd3 Junior Colson
They read the board right and Junior Colson was the payoff at No. 88. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots to take Jaden Hicks, a safety that was not the priority.
Pick127 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
They left a pile of value on the table to take Braelon Allen this early at pick 127. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick168 Rnd5 Christian Jones
Christian Jones in the 168th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick204 Rnd6 Braiden McGregor
They paid a round early for Braiden McGregor in pick 204, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick216 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
They will replay Curtis Jacobs at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick243 Rnd7 Ryan Watts
Ryan Watts is a better player than No. 243 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick251 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tanner McLachlan. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
