Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall A
ValueA- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
Larceny in slot 103 lands the Dolphins a A, Baugh and all.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Dolphins watched Jadan Baugh slide 68 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. This is how you run a draft, and the A reflects it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Dolphins clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Justin Scott and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Justin Scott
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a disruptive interior force at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36 Rnd2 Suntarine Perkins
Suntarine Perkins at pick 36 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick61 Rnd2 Kade Pieper
They let Kade Pieper come to them and pounced at the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jamari Johnson
Jamari Johnson at the 67th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick94 Rnd3 Brendan Sorsby
Brendan Sorsby slid further than he should have, and No. 94 is lovely value for the quarterback. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jadan Baugh
Jadan Baugh at the 103rd overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick139 Rnd5 Omarion Miller
They barely believed it either: Omarion Miller still on the board at slot 139. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick156 Rnd5 Myles Graham
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Myles Graham in pick No. 156, plain and simple. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick184 Rnd6 Joseph Borjon
By-the-book stuff, Joseph Borjon at the 184th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick246 Rnd7 Drew Azzopardi
Drew Azzopardi at pick 246 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick255 Rnd7 LJ McCray
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on LJ McCray. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
