Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

The Packers did not so much draft Darius Robinson as overpay for him, 33 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They banked enough surplus on Watts to cover a lot of smaller sins. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In No. 25 they get a blindside protector, reach and all.
Pick41 Rnd2 Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick57 Rnd2 Junior Colson
A premium they did not need to pay, Junior Colson a notch or two before his time. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick88 Rnd3 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at the 88th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick91 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
No drama and no debate, Zak Zinter went about where he belonged in pick No. 91. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cole Bishop. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jaylen Wright
Good price on Jaylen Wright in pick No. 168, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick203 Rnd6 Erick All
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Erick All well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick216 Rnd6 De'Corian Clark
They did well to land De'Corian Clark in the 216th pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick243 Rnd7 Ryan Watts
Ryan Watts slipping to Round 7, Pick 23 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick251 Rnd7 Zion Logue
They jumped the gun on Zion Logue, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
