Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Packers spent pick No. 168 on Christian Jones, a name the board had a full 40 spots lower. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They will answer for taking safety early while quarterback and tight end went begging. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In the 25th overall pick they get a blindside protector, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in No. 41 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick57 Rnd2 Junior Colson
Junior Colson at slot 57 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick88 Rnd3 Beau Brade
Beau Brade in Round 3, Pick 25 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick91 Rnd3 Darius Robinson
A big swing on Darius Robinson at pick No. 91, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Cole Bishop at safety with quarterback and tight end open.
Pick168 Rnd5 Christian Jones
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Christian Jones well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick203 Rnd6 De'Corian Clark
They paid a round early for De'Corian Clark in slot 203, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216 Rnd6 Ryan Watts
They liked Ryan Watts enough to skip the value, taking him in the 216th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick243 Rnd7 Isaac Guerendo
This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaac Guerendo in No. 243, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick251 Rnd7 Zion Logue
Zion Logue in pick 251 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
