KENNY1480 DRAFTING FOR THEPackers

Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B-. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Junior Colson in the 82nd overall pick, a good 38 spots before the room expected him. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On value alone, White makes the weekend a net positive.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
Kool-Aid McKinstry in Round 1, Pick 11 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick39
Rnd2
Troy Fautanu
They paid sticker price for Troy Fautanu in pick No. 39, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick43
Rnd2
Trey Benson
Trey Benson at the 43rd pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick75
Rnd3
Jackson Powers-Johnson
No drama and no debate, Jackson Powers-Johnson went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. It fills a real need, too.
Pick82
Rnd3
Junior Colson
They talked themselves into Junior Colson at the 82nd overall pick, and the board did not agree. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick111
Rnd4
Roman Wilson
A straight-up fair deal on Roman Wilson at pick 111, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick135
Rnd4
Billy Bowman Jr.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Billy Bowman Jr. this early at slot 135. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick189
Rnd6
Ricky White
Ricky White in the 189th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick217
Rnd6
Cedric Johnson
Cedric Johnson in pick 217 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219
Rnd6
Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at the Round 6 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick232
Rnd7
Trey Knox
Trey Knox at No. 232 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
