Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall
B
ValueB

TradesB-
FutureB-
Klubnik should have been long gone. The Raiders pounced, and earned a B. The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cade Klubnik fell into slot 114. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Smith reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a long-term starter on the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37
Rnd2
Garrett Nussmeier
Garrett Nussmeier in pick 37 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick68
Rnd3
Will Lee III
Will Lee III at pick No. 68 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick106
Rnd4
Zakee Wheatley
Somehow Zakee Wheatley was still sitting there in slot 106, and they pounced on premier safety value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick114
Rnd4
Cade Klubnik
A quarterback of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick135
Rnd4
Austin Romaine
By-the-book stuff, Austin Romaine at the 135th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick173
Rnd5
Darius Taylor
No edge and no loss on Darius Taylor in the 173rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick182
Rnd6
CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels at No. 182 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick220
Rnd7
James Smith
A swing that ignored the value entirely, James Smith well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
