The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a A-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Smith pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with linebacker still on the board.

Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
