Rarbizo DRAFTING FOR THESteelers

Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

A solid, sensible weekend for the Steelers: B-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Steelers spent No. 224 on Korey Foreman, a name most had 58 spots down the list.
The Casey pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots still on the board. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Scott.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In the 21st overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
They did well to land Emmanuel Pregnon in pick No. 53, just ahead of his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick76
Rnd3
Ja'Kobi Lane
A tidy bit of business in pick 76, where Ja'Kobi Lane graded well above the range. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick85
Rnd3
Keionte Scott
Keionte Scott at the 85th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
Pick99
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
A clean, defensible pick in slot 99 with a little surplus value in Daylen Everette. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick121
Rnd4
Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis in No. 121 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick135
Rnd4
Kage Casey
A want over a need in pick 135: Kage Casey adds an offensive lineman while interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick159
Rnd5
Taylen Green
Taylen Green in No. 159 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick213
Rnd6
J. Michael Sturdivant
No drama and no debate, J. Michael Sturdivant went about where he belonged in slot 213. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick214
Rnd6
Robert Spears-Jennings
A tidy little value on Robert Spears-Jennings in pick No. 214, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick224
Rnd7
Korey Foreman
This one needs a full-page explanation: Korey Foreman in the 224th overall pick, miles early. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick237
Rnd7
Eric Gentry
They left a pile of value on the table to take Eric Gentry this early at the Round 7 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
