Draft Grade — Lions
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Lions. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Lions did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
Good price on Emeka Egbuka in pick 28, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick60
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Donovan Ezeiruaku at slot 60 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick102
Rnd3
Smael Mondon Jr.
No edge and no loss on Smael Mondon Jr. in the 102nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
