Draft Grade — Jets
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Jets checked most of the boxes and earned a B. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Jets never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In the 7th pick they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick42
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
A straight-up fair deal on T.J. Sanders at pick 42, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick73
Rnd3
Jack Bech
Nothing to complain about; Jack Bech went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
