Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC FutureA
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the 49ers.

Nobody else had Trey Moore anywhere near the 152nd overall pick. The 49ers did, by 64 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The Lew pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick63 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
They read the board right and Elijah Sarratt was the payoff at the 63rd overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick80 Rnd3 Kamari Ramsey
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kamari Ramsey at Round 3, Pick 16 is the proof. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick92 Rnd3 Connor Lew
Connor Lew in pick 92 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick125 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
Nothing to complain about; Keylan Rutledge went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick127 Rnd4 Chris McClellan
A straight-up fair deal on Chris McClellan at slot 127, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick133 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
You do not let a cornerback like Tacario Davis reach the Round 4 slot and blink. They did not. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick138 Rnd4 Demond Claiborne
Demond Claiborne slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the running back. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick152 Rnd5 Trey Moore
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trey Moore this early at No. 152. The roster fit checks out.
Pick171 Rnd5 Tyren Montgomery
By-the-book stuff, Tyren Montgomery at the 171st pick squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick200 Rnd6 Quintayvious Hutchins
Quintayvious Hutchins in the 200th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick252 Rnd7 Eli Heidenreich
Eli Heidenreich slipping to slot 252 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
