Spencerjgilbert13 DRAFTING FOR THEBills
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B- to prove it. The Bills put a flag in the ground for Quincy Riley, 63 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. The Grant pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They went 3 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
The board had Kenneth Grant higher than No. 30, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick56
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
They paid up for Donovan Ezeiruaku at the 56th pick when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
Pick62
Rnd2
Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond in pick No. 62 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick108
Rnd4
Quincy Riley
They left a pile of value on the table to take Quincy Riley this early at slot 108. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick131
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer at the Round 4 slot is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
