Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Ravens cashed the board's mistake on Paul Jr.: B+.

The Ravens spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Chris Paul Jr., the No. 116 name on the board, in the Round 6 slot. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

They will need Lee III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick66 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Xavier Watts in No. 66, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jermari Harris
By-the-book stuff, Jermari Harris at pick 92 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
The board fumbled Deontae Lawson all the way to pick No. 131, and they scooped it up. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick170 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
They will replay Cam Skattebo at slot 170 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick174 Rnd5 Connor Colby
Connor Colby in the 174th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick181 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton at Round 6, Pick 6 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick201 Rnd6 Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. in the 201st overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick207 Rnd6 Samuel Brown
They paid sticker price for Samuel Brown in No. 207, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick211 Rnd6 Will Lee III
A wild overpay on Will Lee III in slot 211, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick244 Rnd7 Duce Chestnut
They liked Duce Chestnut enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 244. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
