Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The 49ers kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

Nobody had Austin Siereveld this high, and it is not close. The 49ers reached 53 spots to get him at the 206th pick.

On value alone, World makes the weekend a net positive. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Matayo Uiagalelei
In the 28th pick they get a problem off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Isaiah World
They let Isaiah World come to them and pounced at the 60th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92 Rnd3 Domonique Orange
Domonique Orange in slot 92 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick128 Rnd4 Jyaire Hill
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jyaire Hill in the Round 4 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick134 Rnd4 Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter in pick No. 134 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick137 Rnd4 Samuel Omosigho
Samuel Omosigho at Round 4, Pick 35 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick167 Rnd5 Trebor Pena
Trebor Pena at Round 5, Pick 29 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick174 Rnd5 Peyton Bowen
Peyton Bowen in the 174th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick206 Rnd6 Austin Siereveld
A big swing on Austin Siereveld at the 206th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick241 Rnd7 Jordan Hall
They reached a country mile for Jordan Hall at pick No. 241, and the board is aghast. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
