There is reaching, and then there is PJ Williams at the 180th pick. The Bears jumped the board by 84 and dared it to prove them wrong. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

The Higgins value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

With quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
