Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

It is not that Stover is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

They are betting Holker proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
