A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bengals a B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bengals took Luke Kandra a full 31 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
