Deenick77 DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B
ValueB-

FutureD
The Giants left with their quarterback, and a B to match. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Williams reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In slot 11 they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick25
Rnd1
J.J. McCarthy
In the 25th overall pick they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
Kamari Lassiter
Good price on Kamari Lassiter in pick 47, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
They reached into another round for Christian Mahogany, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick141
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in the 141st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick183
Rnd6
Evan Williams
Evan Williams in pick No. 183 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
