Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall C
ValueF NeedB TradesC- FutureB+
The Ravens land in the muddy middle: C.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Ravens did exactly that with Xavian Sorey Jr. in pick 185. A mixed bag that lands at C.

However the rest shakes out, Judkins at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

If Jackson Slater and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick45 Rnd2 Jackson Slater
Jackson Slater at the Round 2 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick59 Rnd2 David Walker
They reached into another round for David Walker, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick91 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
A premium they did not need to pay, Kevin Winston Jr. a notch or two before his time. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick128 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer at Round 4, Pick 27 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick136 Rnd4 Quinshon Judkins
A running back of that caliber at the 136th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick176 Rnd5 CJ West
A real head-scratcher, CJ West in No. 176 is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick185 Rnd6 Xavian Sorey Jr.
Xavian Sorey Jr. at pick 185 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick204 Rnd6 De'Corian Clark
They reached a country mile for De'Corian Clark at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish at Round 6, Pick 27 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick213 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at the 213th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick245 Rnd7 Ben Yurosek
Ben Yurosek at pick No. 245 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
