Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall
D
ValueB

FutureB-
The Dolphins answered their biggest question with Moore. Grade: D. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Dolphins took Mikail Kamara a full 34 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
So much rides on Dante Moore that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Iamaleava falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Dante Moore
In slot 4 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick19
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In pick 19 they get a three-down runner, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Carnell Tate
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Carnell Tate at pick No. 35 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick43
Rnd2
Caleb Lomu
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caleb Lomu. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
They read the board right and Jake Slaughter was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 22. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick61
Rnd2
Colton Hood
A reach for Colton Hood in No. 61; a little patience would have been rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick64
Rnd2
Max Klare
They jumped the gun on Max Klare, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
Pick75
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in the 75th overall pick with a little surplus value in Darrell Jackson Jr.. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick80
Rnd3
Mikail Kamara
Mikail Kamara at pick No. 80 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick87
Rnd3
Dillon Thieneman
They robbed the room for Dillon Thieneman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick129
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, D'Angelo Ponds in Round 4, Pick 29, plain and simple. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick137
Rnd4
Nico Iamaleava
A quarterback of that caliber at slot 137 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143
Rnd5
Jadarian Price
Jadarian Price at pick 143 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick146
Rnd5
Bray Hubbard
A tidy bit of business in the Round 5 slot, where Bray Hubbard graded well above the range. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick162
Rnd5
Chase Roberts
Chase Roberts at pick 162 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick204
Rnd6
Taylen Green
Circle this one: Taylen Green at pick No. 204 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick208
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at slot 208 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick218
Rnd7
Amare Campbell
By-the-book stuff, Amare Campbell at the 218th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
