The Bengals drew a line under the quarterback search with Mendoza: D+.

The Bengals looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Pat Coogan at the 225th overall pick regardless, 30 picks early. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.

Fernando Mendoza is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
