Draft Grade — Commanders

FutureB-
Larceny in the Round 3 slot lands the Commanders a B-, Bernard and all. The rest of the league will want that one back. Germie Bernard tumbling to the Commanders in pick No. 88 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Matayo Uiagalelei
In pick 24 they get a problem off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick88
Rnd3
Germie Bernard
They barely believed it either: Germie Bernard still on the board at slot 88. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick163
Rnd5
DJ McKinney
Value with a capital V on DJ McKinney in pick No. 163, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick202
Rnd6
Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham in Round 6, Pick 26 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick237
Rnd7
Jalen Catalon
Jalen Catalon slid further than he should have, and the 237th overall pick is lovely value for the safety. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
