Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Lions spent pick No. 246 on Akheem Mesidor, a name most had 142 spots down the list. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

However the rest shakes out, Campbell at that price is a win they earned. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
