Draft Grade — Lions
Overall

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Lions. There is reaching, and then there is Khyree Jackson at the 91st overall pick. The Lions jumped the board by 37 and dared it to prove them wrong.
That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
Good price on Dallas Turner in Round 1, Pick 27, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick59
Rnd2
Leonard Taylor III
They jumped the gun on Leonard Taylor III, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick76
Rnd3
Cam Hart
They reached a country mile for Cam Hart at slot 76, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick164
Rnd5
Jordan Burch
A big swing on Jordan Burch at the 164th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick205
Rnd6
Ricky Pearsall
Nothing to complain about; Ricky Pearsall went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick248
Rnd7
Walter Rouse
A tidy little value on Walter Rouse in pick 248, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
