FutureB-
The Lions won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. The Lions clearly saw something nobody else did in Jordan Marshall, taking him 42 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will answer for taking running back early while wide receiver and tight end went begging.
The Satuala pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick40
Rnd2
Kelley Jones
Kelley Jones at the Round 2 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick70
Rnd3
Samson Okunlola
They went early on Samson Okunlola in slot 70, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick94
Rnd3
Anto Saka
Anto Saka at the 94th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick109
Rnd4
Dylan Raiola
They jumped the gun on Dylan Raiola, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick114
Rnd4
Jordan Marshall
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jordan Marshall at running back with wide receiver and tight end open.
Pick118
Rnd4
Faletau Satuala
The board fumbled Faletau Satuala all the way to pick 118, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick155
Rnd5
Nicholas Rodriguez
Nicholas Rodriguez at Round 5, Pick 17 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick203
Rnd6
Jake Guarnera
Jake Guarnera at pick 203 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
