Best value of the weekend goes to the Lions for Jones: B-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Sheridan Jones tumbling to the Lions in pick No. 249 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

If Murphy pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

They will replay Sheridan Jones at slot 249 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
